UMCA & UA Local 140 Labor Relations Advancing

The UMCA Board Of Directors met in February with new the UA International Representative Rick Allen, and UA Local 140 Administrative Staff to discuss the current level of labor-management relations and communication issues that exist between the respective parties. A large portion of discussion centered around the UMCA’s concern over recruitment and supply of labor, in relation to the current market projections for the second half of 2017 and 2018. It was generally agreed upon that both parties need to work toward improving relations and future communications if the relationship is going to evolve and prosper into a mutually beneficial partnership in the coming years. Mr. Allen shared his insight on what could be done together, in order to work toward a true collaboration, that exist based on the progress realized in Colorado these past several years. Mr. Allen is committed to working with the UMCA and UA Local 140 in the coming months so that confidence can be restored.
