UMCA and UA Local 140 Leadership to Go Through “Marriage Counseling”

The UMCA and UA Local 140 have retained C. Richard Barnes & Associates to conduct its much heralded Leadership Access Institute, A Cohort Fellows Program for the Utah Mechanical Contracting Industry. The program will start this August and will run for 18 months to two years. Participants will be required to attend six two-day sessions that will focus on Communication Skills & Theory, Organizational Cultures, Leadership, Developing a Joint Strategic Plan, Strategic Negotiations, Problem Solving & Managing Workplace Conflict. The Colorado and Oregon MCA chapters have recently completed this program and both believe it has been “transformational” for the labor-management relationship. While this will require a large financial investment from both organizations it will require an even larger personal investment from all stakeholders to realize the full potential and benefits of this progressive program.
