Technology Seminar in October

“Technology, Data Capture, and the Role of the Mechanical Contractor”
Speaker: Nathan Wood

Thursday, October 13, Noon to 3:30 PM
Utah Career Center

Jobs can collect an ever-increasing amount of data, but it’s useless unless it’s looked at and understood. This seminar will explore the different data-collecting technologies available today, and how mechanical contractors are using them to improve their bottom line.

Led by Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) leader Nathan Wood. Wood has the ability to identify root causes that prevent new technology from being used, and works alongside project stakeholders and technical managers to organize a team around clear goals with shared incentives. He understands how rewarding design and construction can be when project teams embrace a new viewpoint of digital collaboration. As SpectrumAEC’s founder and chief enabling officer, Nathan leverages his international experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Lean, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) to support the development and use of flexible standards that balance the needs of people, process, and technology.

Wood will cover different strategies for collecting and analyzing performance data across projects, and identifying struggling projects before they become a bigger issue. This seminar will conclude with a roundtable discussion about the current challenges of sharing data between the other project players, such as general contractors, engineers, and owners.

Food will be served.

The seminar will be worth 3.5 hours of Professional credit for contractors and plumbers. It is free to all members, but attendees must register by Monday, October 10. Registration is open now.
