On Thursday, February 11, 2010 Dr. Thomas C. Schleifer, a veteran in construction management, and founder and President of the largest international consulting firm in the contracting industry, will be speaking to members of UMCA, NECA and SMACNA. Schleifer will speak about the economic and industry developments with respect to the financial situation of the recession. He will discuss concerns among forecasters, contractors, and buyers of construction services and will provide a clear and tested method for preparing and prospering during market changes. Schleifer contends that cyclical markets are the norm and believes that world-class organizations should be structured in such a way as to remain profitable no matter what the market circumstance. His presentation will include specific actions to manage a construction enterprise during the slow-down. Schleifer believes that “a construction organization that has prospered during its growth already possesses the knowledge and blueprint for how to make money in a declining market; they either don’t recognize it or consider it ‘dismantling’ to their organization.” Schleifer’s message is one all companies could use, particularly during this turbulent time. Join us for his seminar on February 11, 2010 at the NECA training facility from 8:30am to 12:00pm. Coffee and juice will be on hand and the seminar is free of charge. There are still a spots available at this seminar. Although the registration deadline has passed, please contact the UMCA Office at 801-364-7768 if you are interested in attending.
