Thousands of UA Local 140 members have gone through the UCC’s apprenticeship courses and programs, and currently work in the industry related to their professional training.

The Utah Career Center for Plumbers, Pipefitters, Welders and HVAC&R is associated with Salt Lake City Community College. Apprentices who complete the 5-year program will earn credit towards an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Salt Lake City Community College in addition to earning Journeyman status within the specific trade they select. Apprentices earn wages while they learn through classroom and on-the-job training, and 1,350 hours total are required to complete the program and advance to Journeyman.

A membership with the United Association Local 140 is a required prerequisite to the apprenticeship. Visit Local 140’s website for details on membership.

If you have any candidates, have them pick up applications in person at Utah Career Center, 640 N. Billy Mitchell Road, Salt Lake City, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
